Intermediate Mass Gain Bundle

This bundle is aimed at people who have already done a first mass-gain phase and want to start again differently: more slowly, more cleanly, and without putting back as much fat. It is the level above the beginner bundle, and the more moderate counterpart to our mass gain bundle.

What is in the bundle

• IO Genix Protein Mass 4 kg — a gainer whose carbohydrate comes from oat flour rather than sugar: 195 kcal, 16 g of protein and 28 g of carbohydrate per 50 g serving, of which only 2 g of sugars. It already contains 3 g of creatine and 6 g of glutamine per serving.
• IO Genix Amino 10 — 10 g of essential amino acids per 20 g serving, including 3 g of leucine and 2 g of valine, with all 9 EAA present.
• IO Genix Multivit — twelve vitamins and eight minerals per capsule, including 14 mg of iron, 15 mg of zinc, 60 mg of vitamin C and 5 µg of vitamin D.

You choose the flavour of the gainer and of the EAA. The bundle is €86.90 instead of €95.65 separately.

How is it different from the classic mass gain bundle?

The difference lies entirely in the gainer. A gainer at 1,100 kcal a serving is made for people who cannot manage to eat enough, full stop. Protein Mass plays a different tune: 195 kcal per serving, lower-index oat carbohydrate, and only 2 g of sugars. You use it alongside meals that are already decent, to add 200 to 400 kcal a day where they are missing, rather than to replace a whole meal.

Put another way: the first bundle is there to break a plateau, this one is there to build over the long run.

Is a gainer with built-in creatine enough?

Protein Mass brings 3 g of creatine per 50 g serving, which matches the recommended daily dose exactly. If you take one serving a day, you are covered and there is no need to add a separate tub of creatine. That is in fact why this bundle does not include one: it would mean paying twice for the same thing.

If you take half a serving, on the other hand, count only 1.5 g, and there a creatine monohydrate supplement makes sense.

What are EAA for during a mass-gain phase?

Essential amino acids are often associated with cutting, but they have their place here too. During a mass-gain phase the training is heavy and the sessions are long: drinking 10 g of EAA during the session keeps you from training on an empty stomach at the end of a day when the last meal is a long way back. And unlike a protein shake, it does not sit heavily on the stomach while you train.

Why multivitamins when gaining mass?

Because a mass-gain phase, contrary to what people imagine, often narrows dietary variety: you eat a lot, but always the same things — rice, pasta, chicken, oats. Micronutrients fall by the wayside.

One capsule in the morning covers the twenty most common vitamins and minerals. Iron and vitamin C contribute to the reduction of tiredness, which is no small thing when you string together four to five sessions a week. It is not a spectacular product: it is a safety net, and it costs less than €10.

How to use the bundle day to day

• Gainer: 1 serving of 50 g in 300 to 400 ml of water or skimmed milk, after the session or as a snack. Two servings on days when appetite does not keep up.
• Amino 10: 1 serving of 20 g in 200 to 250 ml of water, before or during training.
• Multivit: 1 capsule in the morning with breakfast, with a large glass of water.

The surplus to aim for stays the same as for any mass-gain phase: 250 to 500 kcal above your needs, no more. These products are food supplements: they replace neither a varied diet nor meals.
