What is Nutrend Pump Pre Workout?

Nutrend Pump Pre Workout is a caffeine-free pre-workout powder, sold in a 225 g tub covering 15 servings of 15 g. Nutrend is a Czech brand, present in Europe since the early 1990s, and this formula is one of its rare products aimed at late-in-the-day sessions.

The composition reads in three blocks. The pump first, with 5 g of citrulline malate and 3 g of beta-alanine. Then the cognitive side: 1 g of L-tyrosine, 200 mg of choline, 300 mg of Bacopa monnieri extract and 500 mg of KSM-66 ashwagandha standardised to 5% withanolides. And finally a base of B-group vitamins, with sodium and taurine.

What does a 15 g serving contain?

Almost everything is quantified, which is not all that common. The one grey area is taurine, whose content varies from 256 to 818 mg depending on the flavour — that is how the manufacturer declares it, and we will not decide in its place. The “of which sugars” line is not published.

Three figures to remember. The 3 g of beta-alanine first: that is a straightforward dose, above what is usually found, and you should know that at that level the tingling is all but guaranteed. Then the 5 g of citrulline malate: a decent dose without being a record, sitting within the useful range. And the 500 mg of KSM-66 ashwagandha, a patented extract standardised to 5% withanolides — stating the standardisation is what sets a serious extract apart from any old plant powder.

On the claims, here is what European regulation authorises and what we can therefore write: vitamins B1, B3, B5 and B12 contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism, vitamins B3 and B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, choline contributes to normal lipid metabolism and to the maintenance of normal liver function from 82.5 mg per portion — the 200 mg in this formula clear the threshold. How should Nutrend Pump be dosed?

Dose: 15 g, that is half a scoop, never more than 15 g a day. Fluid: 250 ml of cold water. Timing: 30 minutes before the session. Frequency: on training days only. Duration: continuous use is possible, with a 1 to 2 week break after 8 to 12 weeks of use.

Mind the dose: the scoop supplied holds 30 g, the serving is 15 g, that is half of it. This is the kind of detail that doubles your consumption without your noticing.

Two practical points. The formation of small lumps in the powder is normal: amino acids are hygroscopic and pick up moisture from the air, and nothing is affected by it. And expect tingling on the face and extremities in the minutes after taking it: that is the paraesthesia linked to the 3 g of beta-alanine, it lasts 15 to 30 minutes and has no consequences.

Once the tub is open, use it within 3 months. Keep it closed, dry, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. The shelf life before opening is 36 months.

Who is this pre-workout for, and who is it not for?

It targets three profiles. Those who train in the evening and refuse to sacrifice their sleep. Those who are sensitive to caffeine — palpitations, anxiety, shaking — and have given up on conventional pre-workouts. And those already taking caffeine elsewhere in the day who do not want to stack it.

The restrictions are brief but real. The product is not recommended for children, adolescents, pregnant or breastfeeding women. People on medical treatment should consult a healthcare professional before use — the presence of ashwagandha and bacopa warrants that caution, and piperine alters the metabolism of many medicines. The product may contain traces of SOYA and MILK.

Nutrend Pump wins on ground that caffeine cannot occupy: the clock. At 20:00 before a 20:45 session, it is the only type of product that will not cost you your night — and sleep weighs more heavily on progress than any pre-workout.
